Board Member Jeanne Vigil Honored by Women In Philanthropy Council

LifeROOTS Also Plays Active Role AT WIP’s Annual “Power of the Purse” Event

LifeROOTS Board Member Jeanne Vigil was honored recently by the Women in Philanthropy Council, an organization where she has played an active role over the years. As part of the United Way of Central New Mexico, Women in Philanthropy is dedicated to inspiring, educating and encouraging women to effect change in their community through philanthropy and leadership. Jeanne, who also chairs the LifeROOTS Finance Committee and is the Treasurer of the LifeROOTS Board of Directors, was honored by WIP for her dedication and service to the United Way of Central New Mexico’s Women in Philanthropy Council for her work with the organization from July 2014 through June 2017, and presented with the honor at an event in June.

In addition, LifeROOTS is excited to also have been given the opportunity to work with Women in Philanthropy and most recently was part of one of the organization’s most popular events, the “Power of the Purse” series. WIP asked LifeROOTS to create ce

nterpieces for this important event and auction them off to raise money for LifeROOTS – and participants in the Rio Rancho program created beautiful hand painted items that were used as centerpieces and raffled off to raise funds. In addition, LifeROOTS had an information table at the event and was able to present information about our organization and what we do to attendees at the event – which offers an opportunity to connect with like-minded community members and learn more about our community’s most pressing issues.

We congratulate Jeanne on being recognized and honored by WIP, are excited to have had the opportunity to have worked with the organization on this summer’s Power of the Purse event – and look forward to continuing to partner with this important organization as together we all work to help others in our local community.
