LifeROOTS is once again giving the community the opportunity to celebrate “Pi Day” in 2018 in a very unique, delicious — and philanthropic — way. We are excited to be hosting our fourth annual “Pi(e) Day Event” fundraiser – and are lining up some local business leaders who have agreed to take a “pie in the face” to help raise funds and give new meaning to the idea of “pies with a purpose.”
On March 14th — the day set aside to honor the mathematical constant of Pi (3.14) – we will once again be joining with Builders Source Appliance Gallery for the 4th Annual Pi(e) Day Event. The event will take place at Builders Source Appliance Gallery, located at 308 Menaul Blvd. NE from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
This after work/all-you-can-eat event allows donors to enter for just $20.00 to taste a wide variety of pies– including fruit pies, pizza pies and other gourmet pies – and will feature cooking demonstrations from some of the area’s premier chefs. In addition, what makes this event truly unique each year is the LifeROOTS “Throw a Pie in the Face of Management” event – giving people the opportunity to throw a whipped cream pie at their boss, co-worker or a number of local business leaders who have volunteered to be part of the fun and fundraising. Our Previous LifeROOTS Pi(e) Day Events raised enough money to purchase 26 high quality lightweight aluminum wheelchairs for individuals with disabilities, as well as accessible tables and chairs.
So far, we’ve lined up some amazing “Tastemakers” for this year’s event that are sure to draw crowds – and raise important funds for LifeROOTS! We’re thrilled to announce that this year, for the very first time, both The Range Cafe and Golden Crown Panaderia (owned by Chris Morales) will be participating … making it even more of a not-to-be-missed event!
So help us spread the word about our 2018 Pi(e) Day … and be on the lookout for even more exciting Pie Day news in the weeks and months to come!
