We are excited to announce that Trudy Eberhardt, Chief Financial Officer at LifeROOTS, was honored as one of Albuquerque’s top executives throughout the C-Suite who are demonstrating outstanding leadership at New Mexico companies.
Trudy was selected as one of 12 finalists for the 2018 C-Suite Awards presented by Albuquerque Business First. As a finalist for this prestigious honor, Trudy was honored by the business community at the C-Suite Awards Luncheon held October 11th, 2018, joining with other finalists at an event held at the Sandia Golf Club. The event, which was attended by top business professionals from throughout the region, featured a special keynote speech from Head UNM Basketball Coach Paul Weir.
The C-Suite Awards recognize the contributions and achievements of those who have excelled as leaders in New Mexico’s businesses. This awards event recognizes leaders from for-profit and nonprofit organizations in the following categories: CEO, COO, CFO and CTO or CIO. Nominees were evaluated on their professional achievement, contributions to the community and leadership skills; a panel of leaders in business community evaluated the nominees, with top scorers named as honorees. This year’s judges were Nick Dayan, chief administrative officer, Tricore; Rebecca Kitson, CEO, Rebecca Kitson Law; Matthew Maes, CFO, Lovelace Rehabilitation Hospital; and Mary Martinez, CEO, Home Instead Senior Care.
Trudy joined LifeROOTS as Director of Finance in 2013, and in 2016 was promoted to serve as the first CFO at LifeROOTS. In the 60 years that LifeROOTS has been in the community, the organization had never valued the Director of Finance role enough to create a CFO position; however, in July of 2016 the LifeROOTS Board decided, based on the quality of her work and value to the organization, to appoint Trudy as Chief Financial Officer. Since that time, she has continued to help LifeROOTS thrive in terms of their programs/services, financial stability and growth, and has directly improved LifeROOTS’ ability to grow and thrive, when they were once about to consider supply chain financing. In addition, Trudy is an active member of the local community, with her civic contributions including involvement with the Civitans, the Rotary, the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society, Bike ABQ, Quality New Mexico and NMPEA Examiner program, Albuquerque Quality Network, UNM Anderson School of Management Quality Certificate Program, Albuquerque Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants, Albuquerque Reads program, and the VITA volunteer tax program.
In addition to being celebrated at the C-Suite Awards Luncheon, Trudy and the other 2018 honorees are featured in an Albuquerque Business First special report this month.
