LifeROOTS president and CEO Kathleen Holmes Cates, a long-time advocate for individuals with disabilities in the community, has been appointed to the New Mexico Developmental Disabilities Planning Council (NMDDPC.) As a member of the New Mexico Developmental Disabilities Planning Council, Kathleen will help work with parents, state agencies and the Governor’s office to achieve its mission of promoting advocacy, capacity building, and systemic change to improve the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. She will be working closely with representatives of state agencies and other organizations for a three-year term ending in July 2022.
